How PMEGP Loan Calculation Works
The calculator follows the real structure of the PMEGP scheme India:
Flow:
Project Cost → Margin → Subsidy → Bank Loan → EMI
PMEGP Subsidy (Slabs)
Subsidy depends on category + area:
General Category
- Urban → 15% subsidy
- Rural → 25% subsidy
Special Category (SC/ST/OBC/Women/Minority)
- Urban → 25% subsidy
- Rural → 35% subsidy
Margin Money (Your Contribution)
- General → 10% of project cost
- Special → 5% of project cost
Subsidy Limit (Important)
- Subsidy is capped (generally up to ₹2.5 lakh approx)
- Even if % is high, it won’t exceed the limit
Interest Rates
Interest is not fixed by government — it depends on the bank.
Typical range:
- 10% to 12% per year
It varies based on:
- Credit profile
- Business type
- Bank policies
Banks Offering PMEGP Loans
Loans are provided through major public sector banks like:
- State Bank of India
- Punjab National Bank
- Bank of Baroda
- Canara Bank
- Union Bank of India
- Indian Bank
Example
- Project Cost = ₹5,00,000
- Category = Special
- Area = Rural
Calculation:
- Margin (5%) → ₹25,000
- Subsidy (35%) → ₹1,75,000
- Loan → ₹3,00,000
EMI will be calculated on ₹3 lakh only
